Slumdog Millionaire proved to be the people's choice after being named the best film of the past 12 months in a poll of moviegoers.
Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning hit - starring Dev Patel and Freida Pinto - was voted film of the year at the inaugural Digital Spy Movie Awards.
Boyle said of his gong: "You should never get blase about awards because you'll be a long time in the wilderness afterwards."
Vampire movie Twilight gained best blockbuster - beating spectaculars such as Watchmen and Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince - while Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan, took the prize for best actress.
Michael Sheen landed the best actor trophy for his varied roles as Sir David Frost and Brian Clough in Frost/Nixon and The Damned United.
Monty Python veteran Terry Gilliam - whose latest film The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus is released next week - was named movie legend by users of digitalspy.co.uk.
Director Gilliam said: "A legend, my gosh! Aren't you supposed to be dead to get one of those?"
Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience, starring the US family pop act, was named "turkey of the year".
